Coping With Stress
2020 has been a stressful year for many people. You might actually have felt it, but isn’t it also true that in industrialized nations we have been talking about stress almost as if it’s a badge of honor to have it.
In reality, when we’re under stress we can produce very little movement forward. We make poor decisions which lead to poor results
How do we get through this?
First is to recognize that there are 4 automatic stress Coping Mechanisms that we can fall into. They are:
1) The Blamer
2) The Placater
3) The Distractor
4) The Computer
When we fall into one of these 4 coping mechanisms, there is almost no form of logic or reasoning that will allow us to think clearly. This is why it’s important to reach the 5th stage. That which we call “The Leveler”
In this episode of the Money, Love, & Freedom Podcast we’ll discuss each of these 4 Coping Mechanisms so that you can first recognize if you are falling into one. Then we’ll go through a strategy you can use on the spot while feeling stress to get you into the 5th stage. That of a Leveler.
