How To Better Connect With Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime
Have you ever had a conversation with someone, and you agree with what the person is saying but for some reason the rapport isn’t there?
This is a very common occurrence and it happens because there are 3 distinct thinking and learning patterns, and when 2 people who are speaking have different patterns, the rapport is lost.
What are these 3 patterns?
The 3 patterns are Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic.
Visual people will tend to think in pictures, images, and movies. Auditory people tend to think in sounds, words, and phrases. Kinesthetic people tend to think in terms of feelings, emotions, physical sensations.
Each of these 3 types of thinking styles has its own vocabulary that goes with it, so when a Visual person wants to “show” something to an Auditory person, that person might not be able to “see” what the Visual person is trying to convey. Instead, the Auditory person wants to be “told” what is going on so that he can fully “hear” the message”
So now that I know this, what do I do with this information?
Now that you’re of the thinking patterns, it’s important to learn how to use this information so you can better relate to others. If you are a leader of any sort, at home, at your profession, in your community, etc. or if you regularly have to deal with different people in your day to day lives, then learning how to adjust to these different styles will increase your ability to connect with people, to get your message across, and to lead and influence those around you.
In this episode of the Money, Love, & Freedom podcast, Coach George Wang goes into depth into how each of these 3 thinking patterns works. He describes how to recognize these patterns and how to adjust to each of them so you can instantly create rapport and synergy with the people around you.
