Why Business Is Spiritual

Have you ever had some doubts or limiting beliefs about business and money? Have you ever heard the phrase “Money Is The Root Of All Evil”? Or that business leaders and founders are greedy?

Sayings and teachings like these give us a false belief about what business actually is. They would have us believe that by creating something that benefits the world and being rewarded for it is somehow selfish.

This could not be farther from the truth, and in fact the exact opposite is true.

Whether you call it God, the Universe, Shiva or anything else, this universal forced created you, me, and everything else in the world. It was created for us, and by that same token we have been given the responsibility to continue that process of creation.

Creation, serving, and business are at the heart of what our creator wants for us. It is through the creation of value for other people that we are rewarded.

And when you look at the opposite side – People who are unwilling to help others. Who do not want to work and take a percentage of money off the backs of others’ work. This is quite possible the least spiritual thing a person can do. Because this is a selfish, inwardly mindset and is the exact type of greed these people accuse business leaders of having.

We were put here on earth to help, support, and benefit one another. When you are in business, everyone wins. You create a great product or service and the customer benefits from your work. You are paid a fair wage and profit, and also benefit from your work.

When 2 parties willing get into an agreement to make both of their lives better, this is a spiritual practice.

When you have 1 party who wants to take something from someone else, in the form of handouts, gambling winnings, etc, without providing back, this is what I would consider selfish and the most non-spiritual thing a person can do.
